Vintage Window - DIY - Framed Art
The hardest part about this project for me was finding the windows. I got a great deal at the Design Vertigo Pop up Sale at the North St. Paul Spring Soiree a few weeks ago.
A quick cleanup of the glass and some mounting hardware and my kids art is framed!
I have one on either side of my fireplace in the living room.

A Tote, A Tuesday
Great heavy cotton outdoor fabric makes up this easy summer slouch tote. You can easily pack for a day at the zoo, park or beach. Mellow neutrals would go great with a colorful sundress, shorts or jeans. This is a one of a kind and in the shop now.

Fun Friday Finds
We have just a few weeks of school left. I always end up with a few extra projects to finish up around the house before the kids are home for the summer. This year we have a Graduation party in June so the list is a bit longer.
I really need to get planting. I love seeing what Linda is up to in her garden every Friday at My Crafty Home Life
I also need to get some easy lunch ideas put together. I am done paying for hot lunch for this school year. You either bring lunch from home or pay with your own money. One of my favorite places for recipes is Iowa Girl Eats
I finally scored 2 vintage windows for framing the girls art work! Details on how I did this will come next week.

Fitted Tablecloth DIY
Our kitchen table is where most homework gets done in our house.
As the "homework season" comes to an end over the next couple weeks I can start using tablecloths again. Here is a quick, easy project to keep your tablecloths from slipping. I purchased a tablecloth to fit the dimensions of my table. You can also purchase a few yards of outdoor fabric, cut to hang about 8 to 9 inches off the top of the table. Place your table cloth wrong side up on the table.
Just pin the corners down so the cloth is snug, but not to tight, to allow for shrinking in the wash. Remove from the table and stitch where pinned.
Done. The bonus to using outdoor fabric is that liquid spills do not soak into the fabric. Manufacturers do not recommend machine washing and drying outdoor fabrics but I wash and dry these often and they come out fine.

A Tote, A Tuesday
Lots of new burlap to keep me busy this summer.
I finished this tote yesterday and have more in the works.
I'd also like to make some pillows for my deck furniture, sachets, and a table runner. Do you have a favorite craft you'd like to see in repurposed burlap? Share it here, it may make the list.

Crazy Week
I cannot believe it is Thursday. May is always a busy month as we try hard to stay on task and finish up the school year. I have been making smoothies after school - with spinach - the oranges take over so you don't even taste "the green".
I also picked up a big load of coffee sacks a couple weeks ago. I never know what I have until I get them home and start sorting!
Emotions run high as my daughter finishes her final weekend of High School Theatre!

Fun Friday Finds
Some great Friday Favorites to share:
Hope to try a couple of these Cinco de Mayo recipes from Iowa Girl Eats
I have made several different types of repurposed cuffs over the years, but can't always find a good deal on the "base bracelet". Here is a great tutorial using empty tape rolls from Scrap Books Etc.

Shop Update
Happy May Day. May is going to be a crazy, busy, fun month at our house.
My daughter will be in her last high school theatre performance the next two weekends (I am off to do some last minute costume sewing today!) Then finals and graduation.
I don't have a lot of sewing planned for the near future but the etsy shop has lots of new totes and a great new sale section - check it out here
You can keep up with Shaggy Baggy on Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter
